Welcome back,
Today I would like to address the subject of personal feedback/criticism/praise. I have been the subject of some blistering feedback this past week and I’d like to address these concerns publicly.
First, I once had my Boss’s Boss’s Boss tell me, “Rich, feedback is a gift. Some gifts are perfect right out of the box; some need a few alterations and some are like underwear on Christmas Morning; you’re disappointed at what’s looking at you from the box but, you know you really need it just the same. Others you just start looking for the Cosmic Returns Dept.”
The first criticism is that I have way too much ego displayed in these blogs to possibly be truly awakened. Also, I have been told, “Those of us who are awakened do not announce this in such a way that you did.” Powerful feedback that I took very seriously.
Then I started to meditate and reflect on the feedback and I have concluded:
I obviously missed the Cosmic Policy and Procedure Memo on ‘The Definitive Guide to Awakening.’ These comments are from the same people who told me in no uncertain terms that I have to travel my own path to Awakening as one person’s map is sure to lead another person astray. Since my awakening, I have been following my inspiration and inner guidance not only to grow and develop but, to document and share my experience.
I hope to show you what is happening in and around me and how I am navigating the rapids of change. Hopefully, my experiences can act as either a trail marker or warning sign to others. In any case, I truly believe that those who are discovering their light have been hiding it for far too long. Look at the world around us; we NEED more light.
So to those who think I’m letting the cat out of the bag, I respectfully thank you for your concern and would now invite you to mind you own damn business and attend to your own path.
The second and tightly related criticism is that I am exhibiting far too much Ego to be Awakened. Yes, I am writing about me and my journey because, I’m the only one in the entire Universe for whom I can speak with authority. It is happening to ME and I’m trying to share my successes and setbacks as I walk my path. If you have a problem either with my process or with the fact that it is happening to ME, I again gratefully and respectfully invite you to go…tend to your own light and walk your own path.
As the Buddha said, “There are many paths to the mountaintop but, once there, all see the same moon.”
So, you made your point. I get your concerns. I don’t agree with them and Spirit is moving me in the direction I must move. You may not like the land into which I am venturing, and that’s fine. Stay at the border and I’ll send you a postcard from the wilderness.
Namaste!
Secondly, 11 years ago when I started as the Clinical Director of the Juvenile Center, there were the rudiments of a treatment program, but they weren’t formalized and they didn’t have a clearly defined therapeutic philosophy or measures of success. After 11 years of building the program and training my staff, we are world renown for the innovative nature and success of our program. Here is a clip from a local Public TV station on our program. Please check it out. Also, please note the passion and sparkle in the eyes of the staff as they speak to their dedication to making a difference in kids’ lives.

Here’s hoping you have an intentionally great and enlightening day.
